It’s true, Bozeman is beautiful in the summer. The warm months find this town bursting with flowers, fresh food, wild rodeo, art, music, and festivals. The question is not what to do, but rather how to fit it all in! Here are some of the bigger Bozeman summer events lined up for 2017, but keep your eye out and mark your calendars for smaller occasions too—there’s plenty of entertainment!
These days, the wildest thing in the West is a rodeo. Packed full of action, cowboys, and cowgirls from across the nation come to compete. Bozeman has its own rodeo, but in case you miss it, you can catch one in a neighboring town.

Western competition isn’t all about traditional rodeo. Check out these events that are just slightly different…
Bozeman Roundup Ranch Rodeo Invitational, July 22-23, 2017. This competition focuses on real ranch activities such as Branding, Wild Cow Milking, and Team Doctoring.
Big Sky PBR, (Professional Bull Riding.) Watch 40 of the world’s top bull riders compete with Lone Mountain in the backdrop. The week is rounded out with a golf tournament, concerts, and an art auction. July 26-29, 2017, Big Sky, MT.
If you’re looking for summer produce, hand-made food and craft items, delicious food and great company, stop by one of our farmer’s markets. These markets have become more than just a shopping excursion; you’ll find kid activities, music and a whole lot of community.

Bozeman Downtown Art Walks

Bozeman is known for its outdoor recreation, but locals know how hip the art scene is. (What better place to be inspired?) New exhibits and artist receptions line the downtown each month. Grab your friends and immerse yourself in a little culture!
Headwaters Country Jam
June 15-17, 2017, Three Forks, MT.
The name says it all; this outdoor country music festival in nearby Three Forks, MT is not to be missed. 2017 headliners include Chris Young, Randy Houser, and Frankie Ballard.
Music on Main
Each Thursday, June-September, 2017
This free summer music series brings amazing music, delicious food and plenty of activities for the kiddos. Music starts at 7 pm, so bring your dancing shoes, and we’ll see you on Main Street!
Garden and Home Tour

This self-guided garden tour features live musicians, artists, and mini-lectures. Relax and enjoy these beautiful gardens around town.
Sweet Pea Festival

The annual Sweet Pea Festival, now in its 40th year, celebrates and promotes the arts with music, an art fair, theater, dance, and food. The week brings friends and family members together for the most popular festival of the year.

(S.L.A.M.) Support Local Artists and Musicians is the mission of this art and music festival. Local artists gather to bring their talents to Bozeman…there’s no such thing as too much art!
Cruisin’ on Main, Annual Car Show

This free car show has become a premier state-wide event celebrating classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles. These beautiful cars line the streets of downtown Bozeman; perfect for strolling on a warm summer day.
Rockin’ the Rivers
August 11-13, Three Forks, MT
Another great outdoor music festival, this one is for the rock n’ rollers out there. The 2017 line up includes Night Ranger, Blue Oyster Cult, and Slaughter.
