Bozeman's Newest Restaurants - Spring 2024 Edition

Bozeman has no shortage of fabulous dining options, but we’re always excited to welcome new places to the mix. As Bozeman has become known for its culinary scene, it seems that when aspiring restaurateurs decide to throw their napkins in the ring, they know they better be good. And that is excellent news for people who love to eat, drink, and gather with friends in Bozeman, which is pretty much all of us. Here are some recently-opened food and/or drink establishments worth trying on your gastronomic tour of the Gallatin Valley, and a few more that are on the horizon.

That Way Bar

Located next to Seven Sushi in the Cannery District, It Will Always Be That Way Bar⸺“That Way Bar” for short⸺is a kitschy but classy homage to the 60s and 70s, offering amazing decor and the prettiest, yummiest cocktails you’ll find in Bozeman. Specializing in craft martinis and nostalgic foods and flavors, That Way is already getting rave reviews from the locals, who report that the cocktails are excellent, the noshes are delicious, and the atmosphere is “such a vibe.” Right that way, folks.

Bozeman Market & Deli

A welcome addition to Bozeman’s specialty food scene, Bozeman Market & Deli is an awesome little spot for big, bold sandwiches, Italian comfort foods, and delicious desserts. Whether your taste is basic or bougie, you’ll find a fantastic sandwich to suit your lunchtime cravings or plenty of “take away” options to create a wonderful meal at home.

Kitchen 326

Kitchen 326 is tucked inside the Eagles Club and is a brick-and-mortar extension of the Big Sky Baked and Loaded (don’t worry, we’re talking about potatoes) food truck, which travels around Montana bringing yummy potato bowls to the masses. Offering vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, and everything in between, these loaded potato bowls are bound to hit the spot for dinner or during a night on the town in Bozeman. Their hours are limited and sometimes change, however, so check DoorDash or their Facebook page before ordering.

Mr. Burritos Express

Mr. Burritos started as a food truck in 2020 and expanded to a permanent spot off of Jackrabbit Lane, just past Four Corners. The newest edition to the ever-growing Mr. Burritos empire, Mr. Burritos Express is located adjacent to TJ Maxx in the Bridger Peaks Shopping Center. As its name suggests, Mr. Burritos serves a variety of delicious, California-Mexican burritos, plus tacos, nachos, quesadillas and more, all at affordable prices.

Coming Soon

Depending on when you’re reading this, these next few places may not be open yet, but they will be soon. Here are a few more places we’re looking forward to trying in the spring and summer of 2024.

Bitterroot Bistro

With a French-inspired but Montana-grounded bistro menu, Bitterroot Bistro will serve comfort classics like baked mac and cheese and bison tartare in an environment that aims to feel special but not fussy. Chef Gabriel Lopez is still working with his team to perfect the menu, and they aim to be open in their South Willson location by summer.

Merry Piglets

Tex-Mex fans of Bozeman: get excited. A second location of a popular, long-running Jackson, Wyoming restaurant, Merry Piglets, is coming soon to the old Nordic Brew Works space in The Market at Ferguson Farm, brought to you by the same restaurant group behind Tanglewood and Hachi Sushi Pub, among others. And since there’s always room for another restaurant that serves queso in Bozeman, we’re pretty excited about this one. Described as an “old-school mountain Tex-Mex,” Merry Piglets will serve street tacos, burrito bowls, and enchilada plates, all with plenty of beans, rice, and cheese.
