Best Breakfast in Bozeman

Breakfast is the most delicious meal, and for Bozemanites, it’s an absolute necessity for fueling an active day, whether that means hitting the slopes, fitting in a workout or a hot yoga class during the work day, or just spending hours exploring Bozeman’s many fabulous shops, restaurants and galleries. And if you love breakfast as much as we do, you’ll be delighted by the options available. So don’t wait for the weekend to enjoy a fabulous breakfast. Here are a few of our favorite spots.

The Western Cafe

Offering classic greasy spoon dining in a cozy, Western-inspired spot, having breakfast at the Western Cafe will give you that old-school Montana feel while you enjoy stick-to-your-ribs fare like steak and eggs or biscuits and gravy. If you’re more of a sweet breakfast person, the Bobcat French toast or one of the Western’s famous cinnamon rolls always hits the spot.

Farmer’s Daughters Cafe

Although this Cafe is part of the RSVP Motel, it’s perfectly fine if you want to go there for breakfast (and you should!). This Bozeman spot offers health-conscious food that both feels and tastes good. Fill your tank and get your nutrition on with a Glowing Green Smoothie, Chia Pudding Bowl or yummy Breakfast Burrito.

Maven’s Cafe

At the heart of Maven’s Market (adjacent to their cafe) is high-quality cheese, and that’s a big part of what makes the breakfast options at Maven’s Cafe so irresistible. Carbonara Eggwich, anyone? The Green Eggs and Ham (also an egg sandwich) is equally amazing, or try one of their super-tasty variations on avocado toast.

Kountry Korner Cafe

Located just a few miles out of town in Four Corners, at the Kountry Korner Cafe you’ll find friends meeting for their daily coffee klatch and just regular folks enjoying a hearty meal to start the day. Sunday brunch is a highlight, or just stop by on a weekday to enjoy a traditional, homestyle breakfast in this old-fashioned Montana joint.

Nova Cafe

The Nova Cafe has been one of Bozeman’s most popular spots for a “killer breakfast” (hence the skull and crossbones logo) for many years running. The Nova prides itself on sourcing local food whenever possible, and their extensive menu includes both traditional diner fare as well as vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. The turkey hash or chorizo omelet are two delicious options, and be sure to check out their rotating specials like cottage cheese pancakes.

JAM

Located in the heart of downtown Bozeman, JAM’s inspired menu brings a creative spin to your typical morning meal. Along with traditional breakfast items, the specialty crepes (Elvis or Puerco Verde), pancakes (Cinnamon Roll or Coconut Banana) or Benedicts (Crab Cake or Chicken and Biscuit) offer an unusually delicious way to start your day. Yum.

Main Street Overeasy

This breakfast-only downtown spot is a Bozeman staple, offering both classics and a variety of unique options for any hungry traveler or local. Try the Jim Bridger Scramble, Filled French Toast, or Breakfast Enchiladas for a meal that will keep you going all day.

Granny's Gourmet Donuts

Located on a side street near Montana State University, Granny's is a little off the beaten path and has offered limited hours since the pandemic, but that doesn’t prevent dozens of people from lining up there every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the best donuts in Bozeman. These magical donuts are made fresh each day and come in a variety of unique flavors, but for our money, the classic glazed raised is the way to go. Another pro tip: Granny’s only takes cash, so swing by an ATM on your way. And if you have to wait, trust us⸺it’s definitely going to be worth it.

Feed Cafe

With a focus on super fresh ingredients and farm-to-table dining, Feed Cafe is the place to go if you want to feel healthy without sacrificing a single ounce of yummy. Try a slightly elevated basic breakfast or the quiche of the day, or get adventurous with the Tuscan frittata, veggie hash, or one of their unique and delicious breakfast sandwiches (the Monte Cristo is excellent).
