It's never a dull moment around Bozeman, and winter is no different. There's no shortage of entertainment, from live music, theater, festivals, fun runs, and even a Winter Farmer's Market. If you're planning to visit this winter, check out the line-up of events – the community turns out in droves, so you'll experience Bozeman like a local!

Bozeman Ice Festival

December 6-10, 2023

Hyalite Canyon and the Emerson Center for Arts and Culture

One of the biggest ice climbing festivals in the nation, the Bozeman Ice Festival draws participants from near and far. During the day, participate in various clinics and climbing camaraderie. The evenings are spent sharing food, stories, films, and panel discussions with other climbers.

 

Winter Farmers' Market

Each Saturday, Gallatin County Fairgrounds, Building 1, 9 am-3 pm

(There will be no market on December 9, December 23, December 30, and February 24.)

Local farmers and purveyors have put extra effort into raising a variety of greens and fresh vegetables so you can enjoy more than the standard winter root vegetables! Plus, you'll find meat, fish, cheese, eggs, artisan bread and baked goods, fermented vegetables, blended teas, honey, spices, preserves, body care, ethically sourced coffee, hot breakfast, and live music! It's an excellent way to spend a Saturday!

 

Jingle Bell Jog and Cookie Exchange

Gallatin Valley Land Trust, Outdoor Patio

Big Sky Wind Drinkers brings us this holiday fun run which winds along the Gallagator Trail and connecting routes. Choose from a short, medium, or long route, and wear your bells that give the run its namesake! Bring a plate of cookies to share and swap with other runners at the end of the run!

The timeless tale is brought to life by Montana TheatreWorks, celebrating its 30th year of live theater in the Gallatin Valley. Meet Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and that moody misguided miser Ebenezer Scrooge, played by veteran actor and local favorite John Hosking. Witness firsthand as Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future haunt Scrooge.

The iconic comedian Paula Poundstone returns to the Ellen this winter! Known for her witty, observational humor and spontaneous wit, Poundstone is the star of several HBO specials and is a regular panelist on NPR's comedy news quiz, Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me! She is heard weekly on her successful comedy podcast. Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone.

 

Broadway in Bozeman; Mean Girls, the Musical
